Duplicate Hard Disks Causing Issues ANDROID 7 Q10 Pro
« on: December 18, 2016, 05:14:22 AM »
I just upgraded from android 5.1 to 7 and now I am seeing DUPLICATE hard disks for each connected device. I have an internal sata connected hard drive (4tb) and an external 2TB hard drive connected via USB 3.0 port. I am using the q10 pro (branded a400 from kdlinks- same model) and I'm able to launch into Kodi and add all my movies but the problem is when I reboot. Kodi no longer detects any of my movies even though they all show up in the 'Movies' tab. It says they're no longer associated to my library or something. Why am I seeing Duplicate Hard disks for every drive? I think that is where the issue is....because - when it reboots it goes to the duplicate disk (where there is no data)...instead of the disk I've set as movie content. Help please!

This is a Kodi 16.1 / Android 7 compatibility problem, it's not specific to Q5/Q10 Pro.

Kodi 17 does not have this problem.

A solution for Q5/Q10 Pro running Android 7 firmware and Kodi 16.1 is to install this patch which will create directories in the file systems for all attached storage according to drive label and UUID (HDD hardware ID). You can then add movies to kodi by navigating in Kodi to root/mnt/media_rw/disk-by-uuid/<uuid> or root/mnt/media_rw/disk-by-label/<label>: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1421.0
