3D Playback Bugs
« on: December 14, 2016, 07:42:05 AM »
I've found 4 defects related to 3D playback in the wrapper, and in the DLNA player. Please see below:

Audio Sync Issue (Wrapper)

When 3D mode is turned on, audio is out of sync by about 100ms.

See video I've uploaded (encoded in HEVC): https://www.dropbox.com/s/bol4xee3808u7hv/HiMedia_3DAudioSync.mkv?dl=0

First part of video shows player in 2D mode, no audio sync issues. Second part or video shows 3D mode with audio faster about 100ms.

(The other video below also shows audio sync issues)

Changes Output Settings (Wrapper)

When 3D mode is turned on, it changes my output settings.

See video I've uploaded (encoded in HEVC): https://www.dropbox.com/s/u0tgtn69j66emr4/HiMedia_3DRevertSettings.mkv?dl=0

Shows my output resolution being 2160p60, after 3D video is played, output resolution is changed to 2160p24.

Big borders on 3D videos (DLNA)

Affects 3D SBS videos only, all my 2D videos seems to be OK. DLNA only, problem does not appear when playing from SMB / Wrapper.

No signal when 3D video finishes (Wrapper)

This one happens a bit more rarely, I tried exactly 5 times this afternoon trying to reproduce this problem and I gave up trying. But here is what happens when it does:

  • Enter 3D mode in wrapper.
  • Double tap the back button to exit.
  • TV shows no signal.
  • HiMedia player seems to freeze, it does not respond to remote (i.e. no GUI clicks while using up/down buttons, and does not turn off from remote).
  • After awhile, HiMedia player turns itself off. Back to normal when restarted.

Thanks, that's everything I've found. The audio sync issue bugs me the most and I hope it can be fixed in the next patch?

I don't use DLNA.

I was merely showing the example as Futeko / . had requested. My other issues are with Wrapper.

Thanks for the reports, the video particularly.

I think the second problem (resolution switching) has been fixed already in 2.0.1 beta. Both videos and your description of the problems have been sent to HiMedia.
