Firmware wont load ?

After downloading the custom 1.08 zip file and copying to USB stick my Q5 doesnt recognise an update file exists on the USB stick.

I've tried the cold start / restore button method which brings up the andriod robot for about 20 seconds and then boots into the normal home page ?

I've also tried upgrading from the option in the settings, but it says so firmware exists on the stick ?

Tried an 8GB and 14GB stick, formated to NTFS and FAT32.

My Q5 was purchased this month and comes with the non customized 1.08 firmware.

Downloaded firmware twice. Is there a checksum for the zip file ?, am I missing a trick ?

It sounds like the box is not finding the update file for some reason.

The USB stick should be formated as FAT32 and the update.zip should be copied as is (not extracted) to the stick.

Ahh.. missing the file rename part..

Rename update_Q5_1.0.9.zip to update.zip and copy update.zip to the root of a USB pen drive.

A ha, you were using an update file not from us.

The update file always needs to be update.zip. We put the update.zip file inside an archive but other sources do it differently.

then i have trying to install it using the upgrade button on the main menu but the error message is comming too , he says... footer is wrong

Where did you get the Q5 from? What firmware was loaded onto it when you bought it?

I bought the Q5 from a supermarket from Romania
It was 1.0.4 loaded then i installed 1.0.7 using the upgrade function

For Q5 4K3D the 1.0.9 firmware should install on both 1000 and 2000 versions if the hardware was sold in Europe. We've only ever sold the 2000 version but it shouldn't make any difference.

Do you definitely have the Q5 4K3D and not a Q5 or Q5II?
