Q10 Pro lost sound output on music files ( 16 bit 44.1 Wav ) since Android 7

Updated to Android 7 a few days ago, and thought everything was hunky dory, till trying to play some music files today, I have no sound output either from Kodi, or Media Player, this only affects music files, all video files work fine, right up tp tp DTS HD Master, have I done something wrong, missed a setting.

I am sure my MP3's play the same as before using Media Player (did not test with KODI). In fact did not detect any change for the Music player except that it now supports a pointer mouse too (=according release notes).

SQ audio comes still out via PCM and is subject to internal processing only HQ audio comes out RAW (with setting HDMI Audio=RAW). SACD/bitstream formats are still not supported which I regard a major flaw as support for it was advertised specifically at launch date. Has been reported to Himedia.

For stereo 16bit WAV settings shouldn't make to much difference. They'll be passed as stereo PCM using any setting combination.

Ok, after hrs of head scratching, I found the problem, in the main box settings, under sound, there is a volume control which only affects music, games, and media, this was set to zero !!!, music of course played through the box, set to RAW and via spdif to a dac sounds horrid, their seems to be no way of bypassing the android sound processing completely, in the same way as Foobar,  Jriver etc do in Windows ?, which would make this volume control innoperative

Only high resolution FLAC/ALAC is passed raw. MP3, wave etc are passed at 48Hz stereo. I disagree that it sounds horrible.!

Unfortunately I don't have a usb dac, only spdif, ( Twisted Pear audio Buffalo ess sabre dac )   with which I use a Jkenny mk3 modified hi face, USB-spdif converter.
