I tried your suggestion futeko.com, suggestion number 2. The problem now is that the player is too big for my screen, is there any way to resize the player to actually fit the screen? I tried the kodi calibration but that changed nothing. Thank you!

Regards

Is the rest of the OS also too big for screen? If so, from home screen go Settings - Display - Screen size position.

If the problem is that the video is stretching to fit the screen then go Settings - Playback - Maintain aspect ratio: Keep ratio.

When playing using wrapper it's the Anroid settings that matter (for video/sound) not Kodii settings.

I already did that but i am not happy with the Himedia internal player since i also cant turn up the volume like i can with the kodi player. I guess i will go back to Android 5.1 and 1.09 and try the suggested patch, maybe this will work better for me. I dont own a windows PC so i will have to go back to 5.1 so i can install the patch. Thank you for your help.

The latest issue I'm noticing is a pulsing of the brightness during playback of video files..this is both in Kodi and in the native player.  It's not there on the same files when I play then on my laptop.

That's Imprex image enhancement dynamic contrast. It can be disabled if you don't like it.

Play a file in HiMediaplayer, press remote menu button to get settings. Then:

Advanced Options - PQ Settings - Imprex Engine - Dynamic Contrast (third from top): Off

Imprex can also be disabled entirely:

Advanced Options - PQ Settings - Imprex Engine -Off

Thanks for that!

One more new issue with Kodi.. it's not adding new files when it scans.  I can see them in the internal drive and can play them with the built in media player but Kodi is not finding them since the update.

Any ideas?

Mote than likely your Kodi settings have not carried over.  Check and reset the Kodi library content for the folder and all should update fine?

Hi guys,

I really hope someone can help me now.  My Q10 after autoupdating no longer sees my internal 4TB drive.  I cannot access my library no matter what I try.

It should be located here -> (In Kodi: Go to VIDEOS -> Files -> Add Videos.. -> Browse -> Root Filesystem -> mnt -> usb_storage -> USB_DISK4 ->  [Your HDD shall be located here]

but under mnt all it does is bounce back to root.  No USB at all.

I can mount the player on my mac and copy to and from it and update the library with TinyMediaManager but that's it.

I'm really frustrated with the level of ongoing maintenance this thing needs.  Once I get it fixed this time I'm disabling all updates and keeping it offline.

Hope you guys can help.

IN fact now Kodi just sits there saying 'waiting for external storage' and won't load at all.

If you have updated to 2.0.3 then you will possibly find Android has allocated your drive a new drive ID (like sda2 instead of sda1 or something similar).
Just go into Kodi and look around for a different drive name.  Just treat it like a new drive (USB storage is for attached drive not internal?) and scan to the library.  Mine is located;    /media_rw/sda2/
In Kodi 17 it comes up with the actual formatted drive name, not the Android sda2 ID.

Nope, still not working.  I should clarify.  It's an internal 4TB drive not a connected USB drive.. so it should show according to this.

Drive mount location? All apps except the HiMedia file browser and player use Android file structure. All directories and locations are subdirectories of root, which is symbolised as /. This is different for Android 5.1 and Android 7 firmwares. For Android 5.1: External drives are located at /mnt/sda/sda1 (Q10 Pro internal HDD only) and  /mnt/sdb/sdb1 then /mnt/sdb/sdb2 etc (all USB drives). For Android 7: External drives are located at /mnt/media_rw/sda1 (Q10 Pro internal HDD only) and  /mnt/media_rw/ (all USB drives)

However under root/mnt/media_rw/ there is only SDA3 which has a folder called Android and a folder called lost+found.

I'm stumped.

That's the folder for the internal drive!
Does it have anything on it?  Create a folder name on it (like "Videos" or "Music") in /sda3.
Android adds the folders /Android and  /LOST.DIR to the drive.
Mine was originally partitioned and formatted with Windows, so it also has standard folders:  /System Volume Information and  $RECYCLE.BIN

Yeah I know that's the folder and it has a folder called movies and one called TV that show when mounted on my mac but are no longer showing on the q10 in either Kodi or file manager.

Is it possible they have somehow been hidden?

This appears to be related to your other thread where the HDD itself is very suspect and probably corrupted?
Definitely run a full disk surface test on the hard drive first.

So I'm giving up.  I have spend sooo much time money and wasted energy on this POS.

I just bought a new 4TB WD RED drive and am having the exact same issues with it losing it's mount connection constantly.  I've tried swapping all cables.

I am now certain it's a problem with the media player.  I am sending it back.  I want a refund.

I warn others to not waste your time with something that is constantly buggy and ruined by each new update.
