Can't adjust video engine
« on: October 08, 2016, 04:09:32 PM »
Hello.

When I set himedia to either 4k output or even 1080p/60 output, I can't do the following..

- if  playing a 1080p video,  and have himedia output set to 1080p, I can't adjust the video engine..
It says,  that HDR mode is enabled.
I even tried to set the hdr mode to off,  but it seems always to revert to auto.
So now with my new HDR 4k tv,  even with 1080p mode,  I can  not adjust video settings.

- while in 4k/60 mode,  with 24 frame auto switch on,  have this issue..
- when trying to play either a 4k/24 or 1080p/24 files,  with output rez of himedia in 4k/60 mode, the screen goes black when 24 fps mode kicks in.
Have sound and no video.
If playing a 60 fps file, or turning off the auto frame rate option,  all files work.  24 and 60 fps work..

If himedia is set to output rez at 1080/60, and auto frame rate is on.
The files that are 24fps will now play video.
Weird..

For the first point, I can replicate it and it is a bug. Imprex should be disabled only for HDR video, but it seems to be disabled whenever an HDR capable display is detected. The next firmware will be based on Android 7 and will simplify and debug the 4K and HDR settings. A solution of sorts is to switch the box to SDR mode (Settings - More - Advanced Options). This enables Imprex for all video for me.

I can't replicate the second problem. If I have the box in 4K 60Hz mode auto-switch works for both 4K 24p and 1080p 24p content (with the 1080p content being upscaled to 4K by Q10 Pro).

Thanks for testing...

Glad it might be fixed...

As for 24fps issue,  I'm going to change out my long old hdmi cable for a new uhd cable.
Will report back,  after installing new cable...
