Audio dropouts using Kodi 16.1 for multitrack mkv files

Dear team,

I just purchased the Himedia 10q and it is a nice box. I just have a problem playing mkv files  with more than one language track via Kodi 16.1. Audio drops out randomly for a second or two for DTS and digital audio tracks. I tried everything Including ares wizard changing cache and played with all the settings. Mixing to stereo all works fine for both audio tracks. Playing with the internal player of Himedia also all works fine, however I yet need to figure out how to switch the audio track in that player as the functionality is quite basic. In addition,  even adjusting the picture size to max, I still have a black frame around the picture also left and right.

I really want to use Kodi but it is no fun to use. I am to a point just returning the device as it does not really work in each of the functions.

What cable are you using? Please try with the supplied cable as a test if you're not already using it.

In Himediaplayer you can change audio track by pressing remote menu key then selecting Switch tracks from the menu.

To fill screen, from main Android home screen go Settings - Playback - Maintain aspect ratio and select Full screen.

Dear support team, first of all thanks a lot for coming back so quickly which must be a challenge for the great amount of people contacting you. I tried several cables including the one delivered but the problem sits probably within the Himedia Kodi interface as as said streaming the same title to the I house Himedia player the same track plays fine however just in one language.

I tried to use the remote menu for the  inhouse player the menu opens up but no audio selection items pops up, just basic functions.

Regarding the  picture size I had used the settings you proposed but still the displayed area appears too small leaving left and right black bars plus increases top and bottom bars. Sizing the picture to the maximum in the settings menu also did not help even stretching it to the maximum.

You tried FW 1.06 also? Have truckloads of problems including audio off-sets etc with FW 1.07 would like to know when a new FW comes which at least fixes what was broken with FW 1.07 next to fixing other things.

Hi thanks a lot, sorry I am not a real insider, what is FW and how can I install it? Do you mean Kodi 17? I tried Kodi 17 beta release but this does not play at all?!

that's strange.... i've never had any issue with video playback or SPDIF passthrough audio using kodi 16.1 default player in any of the firmwares!!! maybe your tv settings or the android video and audio  settings.

Hope they will come wit FW update with Android Nougat, and Kodi 17 that's much better for sound and image.

I have no issues with the internal media player, just the Kodi app....
