8 vs 16 GB flash
« on: September 13, 2016, 06:53:41 AM »
Hi,
I am at the point of buying a Himedia from the Futeko website. I don't need a HDD in the unit so, the Q5 Pro model will do.
However I've noticed the Q5 has 8 GB of flash memory and the Q10 has got 16 GB of flash memory; why?
Will the lack of flash memory affect the performance of theQ5?
On another note:
I live in Australia, will the British model be suitable for the Australian market?
Cheers,

Luc

The difference in storage size doesn't make any difference to performance. It only matters in terms of how many apps you can install. For most users of a media box 8GB will be sufficient. Typical use involves only a few apps with media either streamed, stored on external HDD, or stored on local network. The apps which use a lot of storage tend to be games.

The European/international version we sell is ideal for use in Australia. We've sold quite a few to Australia and include a free high quality Australian plug adapter.

And I am one Aussie that bought from Futeko. Service from this company is A1+ but expect delivery to be at least 10 business days. Not the fault of Futeko but a combination of Royal Mail and Oz post snail mail. You will love the Q5 Pro.

Thanks for the explanation!
I am not planning to install any apps, so, it's not important to me.
I will now continue with my order.
Thank you so much for your help!
Cheers,

Luc

Average to Australia is 8 working days at the moment by Royal Mail International Signed. We are looking at moving to a different service to improve these times.
