What is 3D/HDR exactly? There is no 3D support foreseen for 2160P and only that comes with HDR. The 3D support by Zidoo X9S for 1080P is excellent (subtitles and menus do also work with it).
Zidoo X9S supports 2160P and HDR at least as good as Himedia. Only HDMI Input (=recording) is restricted to 1080P (not being 3D) and 2-channel audio, as Himedia does not offer recording at all this still is only a plus feature. Regarding firmware stability and functionality Zidoo clearly moves a lot faster than Himedia is doing currently (this against the predictions of Futeko). Don't have any Eweat and can't judge those myself.
Yes a new Zidoo model the X10 is already coming but that will carry an (almost) identical Firmware for sure. It does not make me worry about development moving to the latest box. It is clearly targeted to compete with the highend Himedia Q10 Pro and Eweat. I do rate the X10 HW even higher than Q10 Pro as it has extra: HDMI recording, an External SATA port, Quick HDD loading using a smart handle and it looks to have a higher quality front display too.
I am tempted myself to replace my Q10 Pro with the new X10 (provided DVD support is fully functional); this unless Himedia really comes with some surprise quality FW updates soon. It then can finally replace my good old EMINENT 7385 which still is my favorite media player (not streamer).
An alternative could be the new Egreat A10.
