notification icons anyone?
« on: August 20, 2016, 11:42:03 PM »
Hi guys,

I'm new to the Q10 Pro but have few other Android based media players. All my other devices have notification icons on top of the screen. I have none and can't access configs either from the top of the Q10.

I was wondering if my screen size was off, but I can only resize the left-right sides. The OK button does not switch to top-bottom size.

Is it normal to have no notification icons/alerts. I don't see the downloads, new updates and all other goodies seen on my other Android devices.

Found in another thread that they were disabled because taking to much display space :-(

Then it should be a user defined option... Let us decide what we like most.

The Notification Bar can be pulled up from the bottom, I presume you found out that already. Some menus can be revealed pressing the Menu button (provided the App was written to do so). Top Icons are not supported. They maybe could be on the main screen and with APP's not needing full screen. Media Center /Player/Browser and KODI are designed to use the full screen.

APP support on this player in fact is already better than on any other Android based media player I have seen even with this limitation.
What most definitely do not want is all kinds of messages/sounds popping up during actual media playback being video or pure audio.

The bar at the top is meant for phones. It gets in the way of media apps. Much better that it is disabled.

As Nice Monkey says, the bar at the bottom can be dragged up using a mouse / pointing device.
