The Splitter 4K UHD/PRO doesn't split the audio from the video, which you require. This is just a high quality splitter that splits one source to two identical outputs.
The Integral does many other things, besides a normal splitter/matrix functionality for two outputs and also a switch for two inputs... but as I said, it can split the audio off with a 1080p signal to one output and the other output up to 2160/60p video... only device I've seen that can do this.
I checked with HDFury and according to them Integral may not be suitable. You maybe referring to AVR Beta mode and it may not work with all AVRs.
They suggest Integral $249 + Linker $199 option. (Combo price of $399)
When I pointed out that cost is not feasible for me, he indicated that I can go for a cheap splitter (to buy with caution as most are crap) and buy only the Linker as it's scaler and a guaranteed solution for me.
Here's the last reply I had received when I inquired about HDFury Integral... splitting audio and video apart:
"I don't know where you heard this, but you would not need the Linker if that was true.
I'll summarize again
Integral IS NOT A SCALER. so it cannot upscale or downscale.
However it can do a chroma subsampling conversion when using 4K60 4:4:4 600MHz, it can passthrough 600MHz straight, and have secondary output at 4K60 4:2:0 300MHz, which is prolly not supported by your AVR since you said it's 1080p.
You can also use 5.1 optical output with Integral, but you want full HDMI sound, so not suitable either.
Integral also have AVR beta mode, that might work to provide full sound to your AVR, it does this by cutting the bandwidth resolution of the main signal in half and wrap the signal into a 1080p container, however, in real use case, only a very few AVR accept this signal, so we cannot sell it to you as a solution, especially since in 4K the resolution keep changing all the time between content and menu, and you might not have sound in all cases, that's why it's a "beta" and we cannot advertise this as a 100% working solution since it's far from being one."
Conclusion, Split 4K from source, one output to display, then downscale secondary output to match your AVR max res and you will good to go for ever until 8K goes mainstrean and even there, all our products already support 8K 4:2:0, so you will be good to go for 10 years using Integral + Combo
Never too old to learn. Had not seen HDFury.
Even splitter 4K UHD/PRO is HDMI Specification 1.4a Compliant only. Probably won't pass 4KP60 UHD with 10-bit or HDR.
Integral will do it, but at that price i would replace my AMP instead.
Waiting myself what Dolby Vison, Dynamic HDR + HDMI 2.1 are going to do. Also waiting with my TV upgrade for a while.
UHD 4K is still a bit turbulent regarding must have specs and features and the price/performance ration for TV's improves faster than ever before..
They did not recommend this splitter at all. So it will definitely not work for me. In fact they had indicated I could buy a local splitter, which splits the 4K source into 2 outputs. And then I still need the Linker for the secondary output for down scaling to my 1080p AVR..
Even Linker is too expensive as good as buying another Q10 Pro. It would have been so convenient if Himedia could have provided 2nd HDMI 1.4 output for High Res audio, just as in UHD BDPs.
