understanding firmware numbers
« on: June 29, 2017, 08:32:23 AM »
Does Q10 pro firmware numbers go in sequence. eg is HMD-2.0.3 2017-04-12.105811 newer than  HMD-2.0.3 2017-04-12.095905 listed above.
The reason I ask as my box came with HMD-2.0.3 2017-04-12.105811

The version number at the start and the date in the middle are the important parts.

The version number is incremental, with the sequence starting with 1 being Android 5.1 firmware and the sequence starting 2 being Android 7.

The date is the build date. If it's the same then the firmwares are the same.

The final number is different to differentiate between OTA and download firmware. The idea is that if you install a firmware yourself then the box won't prompt you to install the same firmware again OTA (although it sometimes hasn't worked like this in the past).
