The Chinese hardware cannot run anything except the Chinese firmware. I've PM'd you with a link to Himedia's Chinese forum. It can be read using Google translate and has various firmwares for the Chinese hardware. They are all based on the Chinese firmware though, so in Chinese and geared towards Himedia's Chinese streaming services.

Is the 23.976 audio dropout something that's likely to be fixed in the near future? I watched 2 films over the weekend and the dropout happened about 6-7 times in each of them. It's only for about half a second, so not a deal breaker, but it is prretty annoying. Do HiMedia typically release new firmwares in quick succession? Thanks!

Kodi player( DVDplayer ) NOT must be used, use as preference  himedia APP (video, music...) or you have Android limitation.
I used Kodi player( DVDplayer )  only for download subtitle than playback with himediavideplayer..

Hello looun. With dvdplayer we dont have auto frame switch, 24 neither 23.976 fps playback. And dont have 5.1 flac 96khz playback. Correct ?
You said you use dvdplayer to download subtitle with kodi add-ons and then you can switch to himediavideoplayer ? I never tried it. It is a good solution for a correct playback of streaming contents.

yes i am italian ... i need subtitle ....
If you install keymap kodi addon you can set a button(0,1..) to switch player also.
It's one reason it's more good have  "wrapper" version of kodi and not "fork" version of kodi on Q5.
kodi is very limited on Q5, but must big function can be used.
Addon limitation is the great missing , but it's for all andorid device HTPC and rapsi is the right way to have full kodi, but i like q5 video quality and not use addon.

Unfortunately, playing off NAS Synology (SMB or / and NFS), so that does not work himediaplayer Kodi.

I also have a Snology Nas DS414 streaming all content to the Himedia Wrapper and it works perfectly. Did you install it as per the guide?

Do you have a password on the share? It needs to be set up for guest access without password.

I understand very little English.
The network is live, the password is entered, the setting himdeiawrapper do not know where I should enter password ...

Very nice view of the player, I'm very happy for him, despite the minor flaws.
