Rii i25 airmouse
« on: May 18, 2017, 04:48:43 PM »
I have Q5 Pro and recently bought Rii i25 airmouse..
When TV box is in idle state (main menu, no movie playing) mouse cursor moves ok, but when i start any movie or youtube there's a significant stuttering with airmouse cursor (NOT movie) which is so annoying and makes using this mouse practically impossible

Is there any way to icrease USB priority for the receiver or something like this ?

I have planned to buy a Rii i25 too as according to the "Supported peripheral" topic it should work with Himedia Q Pro boxes.

What is your firmware version?

Firmware is 2.0.3

I bught it according to that list too. it is so annoying to use it... First i thought that battery charge is too low - it is not the case

Using a Rii MX3 myself for multiple media players (just moving the dongle). Cheap and works just fine including programming all buttons for IR (be sure to get the right version like with i25 variants).

The Riitek i25 just looks like my Xtreamer Airmouse Pro (but has only one key programmable for IR). Never had problems with that one. The MX3 is nicer in practice (more direct functional buttons) , IR programmable for all keys (toggling RF/IR modes using the TV button).

Most remotes in fact are made by Riitek and may be sold under any brand/label including unbranded.

I have an Rii i25 airmouse (V02) used with a Q10 with Firmware 2.0.3 (latest pcristi version); Android 7.0 and  Kodi 17.2RC (nightly), but I'm not experiencing the same problems as you. Why do you need a cursor when viewing video anyway??? I always switch mine off. Mine  works with no problems on all apps except Kodi  >:(.

With Kodi there is a mismatch with the "Return" key. This is most obvious when using Kodi's File Manager.
Using the original controller I can click "OK" to go through the directories, such as: Himedia > Music> Elton John > Love Songs
I can then click "Return" to go back through: Love Songs > Elton John > Music > Himedia > File Manager icon

But using the Rii i25, clicking the "Return" key takes me straight back to the File Manager icon in one press! So make sure that "Show Parent Folder Items" is ticked (for the ".." option) or you won't be able to move around directories!
This also means that I can't stop a video playing by clicking the "Return" key, as it just has no effect. So I've had to program one of the orange keys to match the original function.

So far I've purchased THREE Rii controllers:
(1) The Rii i6 is unusable as the keys are far too small and too close together for an adult to use easily. Perhaps a young child with very small fingers might be able to use it  :(?
(2) The Rii i8+ worked for a few months and then failed, producing random problems  :(.
(3) The Rii i25 is the best of a bad bunch. Apart from the compatibility problems it does work. It has nice curved corners so the remote does not painfully dig into your hand like the controller which came with the box does.

OK. I can see you would need it for that.

The MX3 looks a bit cheap and according to some reviews the button clicks also feels a bit cheap. It's also very thick in size, which I wouldn't think that is so comfortable. (I have a Minix A2 Lite and even its not as thick as the MX3, but also a bit thick too much.) The Rii i25 looks the best among any other airmouse i have seen. Too bad it has these compatibility issues with KODI, that makes it for me juts a no-go...

The mX3 is indeed  thicker because it uses standard AAA batteries instead of an USB chargeable cell. In practice I like batteries better as the cell empties fairly quick. Another difference to choose from.

Sorry, but that doesn't makes an explanation to it's thickness,  -for example- the stock remote also uses AAA batteries and is still much thinner.

Speaking of: I would be also very happy with the stock IR remote as well, if it would have an airmouse function and a mini keyboard on the back as well...

I would say I would expect every Media Boxes to be released with a stock airmouse/IR combo rather than these IR only ones.

I would order the MX3 (as it's expected to be at least all-round compatible), but because it's thickness I don't think I would find it a worthy deal after...

It's also a bit hilarious, the cheapest S905/x  Libre Elec boxes have much less compatibility issues with either airmouses than these "professionally supported" Himedia ones...
