Futeko admin,
- Due to poor quality of Q5/Q10 Pro in upscaling (see this thread), ability to select in HiMedia player among several interpolation algorithms for video scaling (Lanczos, Nearest Neighbour, Bilinear, Bicubic...) There is no a 'perfect scaling method', so the user will pick the closest to its taste. Kodi's player (dvdplayer) already has this option built-in.
I will pass this on, but it might be difficult to implement requiring work at the chipset level. Another way around this would be for there to be an option for Q10 Pro to output at source resolution, so 1080p content would output at 1080p when box set to 4K mode (as opposed to present where box upscales it to 4K). This has been requested before but I will request it again.
The option to output at source resolution is fine and was the solution used by my old TVIX 6500A multimedia player. In addition, you still can let the user upscale with the current method if wanted,
but a sharper method would be desireable.And what do you think about this?
The 16-segment LED display of this machine is missed. Now with firmware 1.0.7 the display shows current playback time besides a clock (when player is stopped) but this display can show uppercase and lowercase letters and even some symbols (dots, commas, hyphens...) Non-printable symbols could be replaced by a blank space (like my old TVIX). So I think it would be a good idea to allow the following:
* When playing a file, switch among
current playbacktime -> current file name (with scroll if name is too long) > clock by pressing repeatedly a button on the remote. Also show on display the currently selected file on HiMedia File Manager. I don't know if this could be possible on KODI, but my guess is this is not hard to achieve on the HiMedia native player.
* Also the option to
turn off the (highly bright) display for a comfortable session (without distractions). This would be very appreciated among users.
Thank you very much.
