Am I missing something??  It appears that CFW HMD 2.1.1(v1.0) with Kodi 18 RC4, both Q5Pro and Q10Pro versions, is up on his Mediafire account.  However, are those builds not "official/final" until a link is posted on this forum?  The date on the file  is Dec. 30th.

File name is:  update_Q10Pro_(update&theme&Kodi18.0[RC4])[v1.0]-HMD-2.1.1_2018-12-24.145100.zip

When I checked his mediafire account last night, the latest showed he modified it on Dec.28. I imagine he is still tweaking it, and this thread will be updated when hen is ready to release it to us officially.

Downloaded the new firmware and installed using the reset button. Installed ok but wrapper doesn't seem to work. Just comes up with "VideoPlayer" at the top of the screen. However kodi is now playing 4k movies from a NAS drive that it was having difficulty with before. The frequency switcher is working. I assume it still won't pass Atmos soundtracks? I haven't tested that yet. I'll still need the MediaCenter player for that?
If you can get Atmos soundtracks playing from within kodi I might just buy another Q10. Thanks for the update. Have a happy new year.

A quick  question.

* Is it expected that Kodi don`t need wrapper to bitstream audio and Atmos and will HDR>SDR convertion still work when trying this mod ?

Kodi VideoPlayer HDR>SDR conversion working start with Android 7 firmware.
HiSilicon device is not support by Kodi Developer and SDK HiSilicon not use IEC61937 standard to get passthrough.
Proper bitstream for audio Dolby Atmos is supoort on Nvidia Shield TV  in others device(Fire stick/AMLogic/RTD1295/RTD1296) may work or not.
