Questions towards sub extension in KODI on Q5/Q10 Pro
« on: April 17, 2016, 03:27:24 PM »
Hi guys,

I've notices that the KODI in Q5/Q10 Pro called Himedia's native player to play videos instead of playing them by KODI itself.
I assume that's because only the native one can provide full decode power?

In this case, seems the sub extension which used to be activated via KODI's surface can no longer be used.
Am I right?

The native player is what you want to use for 90% of videos... Kodi is just used as a front-end, a jukebox to manage your movie/TV collection.

But, you should be able to modify HiMedia's wrapper-installed playercorefactory.xml to have different video types (by their extensions) play in Kodi's videoplayer vs. wrapper/HiSilicon player.
