Is  there already OTA for 1.06 and  will the 24p 1080 play fine now?

No OTA. It has same version number as 1.0.5 so it will not appear via OTA. It only makes minor changes so you should be OK installing 1.0.6 over 1.0.5 via menu.

The 24p fix (fps matching Hz) will come in next firmware (prob numbered 1.0.7)

Just a little curiosity guys. I noticed that "recent apps" are always in list when I power off and on the box. Is it normal? With lollipop on smartphone it doesn't happen.

Just installed the new firmware and following issues:

KODI wont start (click and nothing happens)
Youtube wont start (as above)
Wrapper app has disappeared from apps section

I have managed to access google play store, and playback some media via the player, but thats about it

EDIT: i reinstalled kodi from the store and it now works. However, while I can find my NAS (QNAP 251+) via NFS, see the files, and download the artwork etc, it won't play any files. Am completely stumped

How did you install the firmware?

If Kodi And Youtube wouldn't start after reinstall then something went seriously wrong with the firmware reinstall.

I suggest first doing a factory reset (Settings - More - Backup & reset - Factory data reset) and then reinstalling firmware using the UPGRADE button on back according to instructions here: Q10 Pro - http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1045.0, Q5 Pro - http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1046.0

Have seen this too. It is strange and not as expected.  It potentially eats up the RAM memory as all APP's started once remain cached despite power cycling the box multiple times? Android claims to do smart memory management, so maybe not a real problem.

Frequent smaller updates is better than long waits for big one's. Thumbs up.

A few surprises like the Front Display showing playback time and subtitles download released very quick. There are probably a few undocumented flaws removed (and may be some others introduced).

Oh yes and they forgot mentioning BD / DVD ROM drive support via USB introduced for both Data and Unprotected BD/DVD Video content.

That is to say it already worked for at least some brands/models but nobody was aware of it.  ;D
All thanks go to afss for being stubborn and akurej for additional testing.

I had recently purchased Q10 Pro and comes with the following version:

 1.0.3-FUTEKO-EN. HMD-1.0.3 2016-05-23.124800

With the likely release of the above 1.0.7 firmware I have the following queries:

1. Is it necessary to update first to 1.0.6 and then update to 1.0.7 ?
2. Will it be a disadvantage of not updating to 1.0.6 presently ?
3. This might be a repeated question - will my settings of libraries in Kodi be effected if I upgrade the firmaware ?

Thanks

Hello,
1. No you can make your update without the 1.0.6 version one but make a clean install by the pin behind the Q10 Pro.
2. Absolutly not, change nothing if you put the new update even if you have the 1.0.3 or another one.
3. For keeping your settings in Kodi, the same version as well, the best you have to do, i make like this is to make a copy from

X:\sdcard\Android\data\org.xbmc.kodi and make a backup the last one from "org.xbmc.kodi" in a usb key or local hard disk.

After you made the new firmware update, you install again the right Kodi version, same as before and crush the new folder "org.xbmc.kodi" by your backup.
Just open again Kodi and you don't lost anything. Don't forget to make the same SMB or others sharing at same as before your update.

Thanks

Kodi 16.1 is included in the firmware.

You will have to either backup and restore your Kodi settings (share locations / skin etc) or recreate them from scratch.

When I do factory reset after installing FW1.06 some apps like Kodi, Wrapper etc. are uninstalled missing!!
So then I have to do the firmware ugrade again (via upgrade pin) method to get Kodi/ wrapper etc. back.

So how does one make factory reset without losing the firmware apps?
I don't mind losing the downloaded apps or data or settings.

Also, is there a way to close all apps running? How does one check recent apps and close them?
