Well, I've just downloaded 2.0.4 for Q5 Pro, but after upgrade Q5 still shows as it would be 2.0.3? Old info in firmware or old image in ZIP?

The download is definitely correct.

I think the box hasn't recognised the update file. If this happens you'll get what looks like an update but is in fact a factory reset of existing firmware.

I recommend trying to update again. USB stick should be FAT32. update.zip should be extracted from the archive, no renaming.

USB was formatted to FAT32, but for some reason Q5 hasn't recognized it. After using different one (4GB instead of 32GB) it worked fine, thanks. I wasn't aware that upgrade is so easily confused with factory reset in case USB is not properly recognized for any reason.

So far so good with new version. However, I'm a little bit disappointed that fix for problem http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1966.0  hasn't  made it to 2.0.4.
Anyway, keep the good work.

OTA update didn't found any updates yet and neither is it available on the official site.  So I downloaded the 2.0.4 update  here and  Installed it yesterday on my Q10 Pro via the manual update (8GB usb stick).
Happy to see that the player is now working better than before with old version 2.0.3.

My box didn't recognise the usb drive with FAT32 so formatted it again with the far more standard NTFS and updated fine.

Loving the new media player look and usability, and nice to have HDR letterboxed movies working fine.

No audio offset on video is now my main complaint but doesn't seem as if this will ever be added as it's been brought up now and again for ages.

Overall, good firmware though.

The firmware on the Himedia site should be the same as here.

2.0.4 doesn't appear to be on the HiMedia site yet (http://www.himediatech.com/support.htm).

Where did you get it from?

this problem didn't exist before 2.0.3 and iT is stil there 204

I have a few network drives accessible via LAN (SAMBA) and uPnP w/o a problem
also have a computer accessible via NFS (it's a mac I cannot use SMB - known bug or is it solved already?)

all these are shortcuttable

then when I need real fast access i want to use NFS - one of my network drives will causes the system to hang after reaching it's NFS folder (browsing NFS)
the other one is just fine. also shortcut will hang the system (again with the first one not second one). they are of the same make and they both worked before FW 2.0.x

frustrating.

@Futeko: I got in touch with Netflix via LiveChat and this is what they told me about Netflix not working on 2.0.4:

I know where you are coming from, It seems that in this case it depends more in the security protocols of the box, actually in our side it doesn't show up like a Box it shows like a Tablet, that's why it could have problems with certain apps that have HDCP content like Netflix, if you want to have Netflix in your box I believe that the manufactures must add this protocols in the box like in the previous build, hmmm.

Ok I need from your help here, you do need to reach Himedia and check on this update since, we do provide the Netflix app to all the devices that have this kind of protocols, it could be that they will work on it, but I want to give you the right information here, it's more likely that they will add this features later on, sometimes they only update the version but not the protocols of the version but this is normally corrected in future updates or patches.

Try to contact HiMedia about this. I will ask them about the protocols if HiMedia needs more information.

I think it is a different problem with the USB drive I faced. My USB stick formatted with FAT 32 can update to 2.0.4 no problem. But the USB 3.0 HDD that formatted ExFat have problem on Mediaplayer. The video files can show up at File Manager but not in Media Centre. It show no video found. I forget when this start to happen but at least on early time of 2.0.3 that is no problem. Any idea?

The firmware on the Himedia site should be the same as here.

2.0.4 doesn't appear to be on the HiMedia site yet (http://www.himediatech.com/support.htm).

Where did you get it from?

According to your quote last month. There are two updates. One from Himedia and the other is HiSilicon targeted to the HDR Aspect Ratio. Now the 2.0.4 already fix the HDR Aspect Ratio. Then what is the HiSilicon fix for? Will it come to fix something others? Will it possible that the Dolby Vision? Also how about the HLG.

I have another question about the TrueHD Atmos. Is the Q10 Pro can downmix it to 5.1 by setting the HBR to RAW 5.1? At the moment, my old 5.1 Pionner and the Sony X80D 4K TV do not have audio for any TrueHD Atmos sound track. My setting is HDMI - RAW, HBR - RAW 5.1. I don't use SPDIF. DTS has not problem for DTS-HD MA. I don't have DTS-X movie to test.

For the so call strange format VISIONPLUS HDR1000 at 4:2:2 chroma like the Rogue One. It can play at my MacBook Pro with MplayerX but not in VLC and Kodi also Q10 Pro. I think it is 12 Bit YUV 4:2:2 rather than the Mediainfo reported 10 bit. Another movie Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade has 10 Bit YUV 4:2:0 has no problem in Q10 Pro.

Sorry I may have too many question in one post.

Not supported format. Max 4:2:0.

4:2:2 only very strong Pc.

@mihailuican 45MB/s probably wired, wireless very small chance to go over 25-30MB/s with AP6335 modules.

About wireless transfer between XPS laptop and Q10 Pro, 2 meters apart...
I use an asus rt-ac87U router and connect either directly with Q10Pro's internal 802.11AC (433MBps link) module,
or by LAN cable from a Asus EA-87U, 802.11AC wifi bridge (1900MBps link),
and wireless speed by FTP doesn't go up frum 16-17MiB/s. Samba transfer is even MUCH LOWER. 5-7MiB/s.
These laptop transfers are very low. On the samba/ftp transfers with HDD attached directly to my router, USB3.0, speed of wireless copy is above 45MiB/s and internet wireless speed is 450-500Mbps... aprox.
Question is WHY is Himedia using 802.11ac module (with bad drivers) for such low speed, when a good 802.11N module gets speed much better? It's an overkill, isn't it?
Cheers.

Thank you Gala.

According to the Hisilicon spec, it only support up to Main 10 profile@5.1@High Tier. That means Type 1 4:2:0 only. It has no chipset on the market that support this format. It needs Main 4:2:2 10 profile. I just curious that why my MacBook Pro can play it on MplayerX. I think it is a software problem as Kodi and VLC can't do it on the same Mac.
