The usual method, USB stick in one of the USB ports on the side, press and hold the reset port at the back with a paper clip, than turn on the Himedia Player and wait for that circle logo to appear and update. I do get that while update line that goes across the screen.

Now the funny thing after the update when I go to check version it still shows V7.0 and not V7.2.0.0.

Thank you.

The name of the file will give you a hint of what you did wrong...

I am lost sorry here, says do not install directly over 5.1 firmware, but I didnt I had 7.0 in there previosly. So what have I done wrong and what do I need to do.

Do I now need to downgrade the firmware than start from scratch

You said "I did my update to 7.0", implying that you updated from a previous version of Android? This must have been 5.1 as that is the only previous version available for Q10 Pro.

The firmware you installed is a very early Android 7 firmware (the first official version) which is intended to be installed only over the Android 7 beta pre-release firmware.

I recommend installing in sequence:

2.0.3: http://www.mediafire.com/file/3m2o8772gw2zudv/Q10_PRO_FIRMWARE._ANDROID_7_TO_ANDROID_7._FUTEKO._HMD-2.0.3_2017-04-12.095905._Q10_PRO_MUST_ALREADY_BE_RUNNING_ANDROID_7_TO_INSTALL_THIS_FIRMWARE.zip/file

then

2.0.4: http://www.mediafire.com/file/56g7k6ez76m197a/Q10_PRO_FIRMWARE._ANDROID_7_v2.0.3_TO_ANDROID_7_v2.0.4._FUTEKO._HMD-2.0.4_2017-07-05.174159.zip/file

then

2.1.4: https://www.mediafire.com/file/yv9ykcwxv659i16/Q10_PRO_FIRMWARE_2.1.4._INSTALL_ON_ANDROID_7_v2.0.4+_ONLY._FUTEKO._HMD-2.1.4_2019-05-31.zip/file

Use the reset button method for all installs:

1. Extract update.zip (using an unzip program like 7zip, winzip etc) from the downloaded zip archive to the root of a FAT32 formatted USB pen drive. (the USB pen drive should contain a single file called 'update.zip'). Note, there is no need to rename anything!
2. Insert the USB pen drive into any USB port of Q10 Pro.
3. With Q10 Pro turned off, use a paper clip or pen to press and hold the the pinhole UPGRADE button on the back of Q10 Pro (next to the power port).
4. While keeping the UPGRADE button pressed, turn on the Q10 Pro.
5. Q10 Pro will showthe Android 7 coloured circle logo.
6. When you see the circle logo you can release the restore button.
7. A progress bar will indicate update progress. Do not turn box off or use the box/remote during update!
8. When update is complete the box will automatically reboot.
9. First boot will take 3-5 minutes. The box will reboot into new firmware. Allow boot to complete.

Hi Futeko , thanks for your help.

Yes I am 100% sure it was the original 5.1 and probably it came with that version when I bought it.

Now the sequence you have listed below eg: 2.03, 2.04, 2.1.4, I do this one at a time. Once I have installed 2.03 for eg, do I need to switch/power on the Q10 Pro just to check it. Than after that go to the next step 2.04, than 2.1.4.

And with the USB stick I will need to reformat it every time I suppose before I re download the next firmware version on to it.

I will give it a go later this evening, hopefully it fixes up my problem, not sure where I stuffed up.

Glad there is Netflix on it now.

Many thanks.

For the firmware installs, do each in sequence. The installation method I give in previous post requires a reboot (turn off box and turn back on with reset button depressed). No need to reformat the USB stick, just copy the new update.zip replacing the old one.

If I have more than one firmware file extracted on my USB stick, will the Himedia recognise the latest version firmware. So the newer one from the older one.

Finally I have done all the firmware upgrades, but to say the least both Netflix and YouTube do not work, everything is went well.

Quite disapointed that Netflix and YouTube do not work, hopefully one day both these will be fixed and up and running ok.

Watched Toy Story 4 in 4K, on my Hisense 55" 4K OLED TV, was brilliant.

Yes, or you can download it directly from the browser in the Q10

You are obviously new? The HiMedia boxes are dead  :o . We have been abandoned by HiMedia  and there will be no further updates  >:( . Never buy from HiMedia again.

What replacement for HiMedia?
I am passionate about the Kodi interface using the superior performance of HiMedia Videoplayer.
I have heard of Zidoo, but is it similar in management?
I currently don't know which substitute to choose.
Thanks
