Video format issue
« on: March 23, 2016, 11:22:04 AM »
Hi everyone
I bought few weeks ago a futeko mini Mx under Android.

I've got an issue with playback. I'm using Kodi (i recently upgraded to 16.0 but issues were there before under 16.0 beta)

I'm playing mostly .mkv and when i play it through Kodi i've problems with the size.
I've set it with the config menu.
But during the play the size change itself and sometimes the image is out of my tv and sometimes the faces of the characters are not normal (stretched or compressed).

I've set the size in android menu too. And set format of the tv to 1080p 50hz (and descativate the auto detection).
But nothing works. Do you have some ideas?
thanks

Thor

Have you set it up in Kodi under System > Settings > Video > Video Calibration

Make sure the outside edge of the blue bars in the corners are at the edge of you TV and make sure the square in the middle is square and not rectangle

Yeah i've set it up.
But i've got the impression that it's not a Kodi problem at the end.
In face sometimes when i go back to the android menu, it is stretched too and the image is out of the TV.
So it seems to be a problem with the box itself.

Have someone the same issue ?

We've not had any other feedback about a similar problem and I've not read anything about it on forums either.

There aren't many system settings that could affect this. In Settings - Device - Display - Screen Resolution, set it to something other than auto. In Settings - Device - Display - Screen Position, set it to 100% (if this causes overscan on your TV change your TV settings to a mode which scales input signal to TV).

I don't think the above will fix it though. It sounds more likely that it's a TV problem to be honest. On your TV what settings are there for how HDMI input signals are displayed? If there are different modes (i.e. PC mode, stretch to screen etc) try them out.

It could, I guess, also be a very unusual hardware problem with the MiniMX. If all else fails email us to arrange RMA. mail@futeko.com

I tried with 720p or 1080p and with or without auto detection but issue remains.
The image is good but sometimes i don't know why the size of the screen changes and the sides of the image are little bit out of my tv.

I tried with the media player from android and the problem is the same.
I try with another hdmi cable and another hdmi input, but nothing changes.

I don't understand why the problem is occurring so it's going to be necessary for us to take the box back to have a look at it.

I've replied to your email.
