use mediawrapper:
Install instructions:

1. Run XBMC/KODI, and then exit XBMC/KODI by click the EXIT icon.
2. Download and install http://www.mediafire.com/download/73ydkv281c8dexr/himediaWrapper.apk.
3. Run the newly installed app. In the top left corner you'll see 'playercorefactory not installed'. Select the check box below to 'install playercorefactory'.
3. Run XBMC/KODI and you should now have 7.1 audio and 3D-ISO support.

Hoolo Loon,

Hi, Himediawrapper is only 7.1 audio and 3D-ISO support in kodi or also for 24p as other user says in one question about 24p?
Thanks a lot

Also 24p. 3D, 7.1 audio and 24p switching should all work from Kodi using wrapper.

After the  wrapper install, kodi(15.2) don't play any file, just the turning arrows in the middle of the screen, i have uninstall the wrapper, then kodi even after a reboot, don't play any anything, i have reinstalled kodi and now work without the wrapper, why wrapper fail?, what to do when it happens?
I got last firm as today.
Thanks

It sounds like a problem with wrapper install. How are you uninstalling the wrapper?

To uninstall / reinstall the wrapper:

1. Install ES File Explorer (free from play store) and change settings-display so you can view hidden files. Navigate to sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/. Delete the playercorefactory.xml file.
2. Run the wrapper app again and it should show wrapper as not installed. Select the button to install it.

Always install the wrapper on a fresh Kodi install. Results will be unpredictable if you install it on an install with add-ons / old config.

(please note if you use XBMC/KODI to play files from SMB network, the SMB network should have no User ID and Password.)

Update patch to enable TrueHD ATMOS support on Q5 and Q10 4K3D: http://www.mediafire.com/download/8vxqqm5ja9svvie/update.zip

It doesn't need a new firmware install, just go to SETTINGS - UPGRADE - LOCAL UPGRADE and select the update zip.

Hello.
I added Media Player wrapper (HiMediawrapper)
http://www.mediafire.com/download/73ydkv281c8dexr/himediaWrapper.apk

Then I downloaded the update to add Atmos support

"Update patch to enable TrueHD ATMOS support on Q5 and Q10 4K3D: http://www.mediafire.com/download/8vxqqm5ja9svvie/update.zip"

However, I can't use Atmos.
I tried Gravity (Dolby TrueHD), The Expendables 3 (Dolby TrueHD), and I also tried the Dolby Atmos Demonstration Disc 2014 1080p Blu-ray AVC TrueHD 7.1 Atmos.

I tried HDMI RAW and HDMI LPCM.

I tried Kodi (with the HiMediawrapper patch), and I also tried HiMedia video player app.

It does NOT work.

I have a Yamaha RX-A1050 which I know has Atmos support and when I press INFO it even tells me the codec it's using and the number of channels the audio signal is sending, and I never see 7.2.1 or 7.4.1 or 5.2.1 or 5.4.1

The middle digit X.Y.Z should tell me the ATMOS channels.

I know Yamaha should say ATMOS but it just keeps saying Dolby TrueHD just like my 5 year old video player.

I bought this video player just for Atmos.

Please help.

I think my reply in the other thread is relevant. You may have the Chinese hardware version.

For ATMOS to work you need firmware version 1.0.9 or later. What firmware version is installed?

Audio settings should be:

HDMI Output: RAW
S/PDIF Output: Close
HBR Degrade Output: RAW 7.1.

YAMAHA RX-A1050
YAMAHA RX-A2050
YAMAHA RX-A3050
YAMAHA CX-A5100

PROBLEM
NOTHING works with ATMOS

SOLUTION
The ONLY DSP that works with ATMOS is
1) Surround

ANYTHING else fails, Movie, Music, Concert, etc, every single DSP out there fails EXCEPT SURROUND.

According to the manual, this is what SURROUND IS

YAMAHA RX-A1050

SURROUND
Use Dolby Surround decoded suitable for all sources. A real acoustic space (including overhead) will be created especially when object-based audio (such as Dolby Atmos content) is played

With the new batch of Q10's arriving next week will all these patches and wrapper be preloaded or are we still required to download and apply them.

Don't want to muck anything up.  I am not very good with Android devices.

Current stock does not have wrapper pre-installed. Installing it is easy though. Just follow instructions on page 1 of this thread.

Next firmware (3.0.2) will have Kodi 15.2 with wrapper pre-installed, but it's a couple of weeks away.
