This can also be done via USB. I loaded the required files to a blank USB and inserted in the USB port next to the Micro SD slot (have not tested the other USB ports) Whilst MiniMX is off push Recovery button on the bottom of the box, insert power continue holding for 5 seconds and release. The MiniMX boots the recovery menu where you can select to update via /mnt you can then select udisk for the USB and select the required zip file. When complete you will be returned to the recovery main menu where you can reboot the device.
