External housing for hard drive
« on: November 16, 2022, 06:39:08 PM »
i would be glad to have your opinion about the way to connect an external hard trive to a Z1000 Pro.
Wich kind of housing box you could suggest to me, if possible with a fan if you think it is necessary.
Thank you in advance. :)

You can use any USB HDD casing. A fan isn't usually necessary as long as the case has reasonable ventilation. Performance is not an issue if using for media so I'd go for something low cost.

3.5" and powered (large 3.5" HDDs have high power draw so a powered caddy is best): https://www.amazon.co.uk/RSHTECH-Enclosure-External-Automatic-Function-Sliver/dp/B087WQN725/

For multi-slot units:
QNAP units are nice for RAID via USB. For individual Plug&Play HDD's I like the Icy Box units.
