After using a WD TV Live media hub for many years. The Z9X is an upgrade to perform the same task, but allow viewing of X265 files on a plasma Panasonic TX-P42G20B.

I previously had viewed the same X265 files on an small android tablet running VLC, which is not ideal where the Z9X was purchased to play the same files, onto the larger TV. Which is why I think this is a setup issue and not a file integrity issue?
Originally the Z9X directly replaced a blu-ray player which meant the HDMI first passed through a soundbar and that was thought to be the issue with screen corruption and playbacks stalling? But the Z9X is now connected directly into TV-HDMI 1 using the supplied HDMI lead attached to the Z9X HDMI OUT port. When playing back files over a wired network, or local USB drive, the screen will sometimes go black and playback cease at that point, and will remain black although the time can increment using the control but playback not resume. If stopped and resume is attempted, the unit will sometimes resume for a second then return to black. Other times playback will continue but then later stall to a black screen. After a stall event, and moving to different file this may have varying degrees of screen corruption with screen artefacts being usually horizontal grey lines which linger. There is the odd instance when playing files and changing the dialogue to Japanese and the subs to English, the unit also stalls at this point to a black screen. Any Z9X setup advice for owners of older TVs or aspects of video files to be aware of prior to playing would be appreciated..
