New Official (?) 2.1.6 Firmwares + some new patch

Thanks for feedback, I got same problems on Q10Pro box with PCB 1.2, please try mod version from here.

However after installing 2.1.6 with the patch for Google etc the box seems to very frequently Crash back to the Himedia Logo and reboot.

I apologize, but I have not understood well if this firmware is suitable for European boxes.

Thanks pcristi seems to be working very well now with new patch, I was also able to get full Magisk root using your version for 2.1.4, Boots like lightning now which is a nice change, I will be doing some more testing today.


NOTE: I am using KdLinks A-400 for testing ( Rebranded Q10 Pro )

For location try to set for Google Play services permission to use location. By default is now off.

So install new 2.1.6 firmware using rename to update.zip and paperclip method, then do we rename this patch to update.zip and install how?

Patch can be install from menu or paper clip not need to be differences.
Note to do disconnect power and reconnect one time after box is running v2.1.6, some user report as need it.

I apologize if I am repetitive, but is it possible to install this new firmware without problems in the European box as an update to version 2.1.4?
It seems to me that I understood that it was only for Chinese boxes.

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. It's a real pain to have to redo apps and settings.

If you tried to install the firmware in this topic and you see 2.1.4 then yes, you did something wrong. Make sure the flash drive is formatted in Fat32 and you have a single file called update.zip, beware that windows might be hiding the extension and you might end up with a file called update.zip.zip

If not working with USB flash formatted FAT32, can try with NTFS on HiMedia box with Android 7 working too, after successfully update version must be HMD-2.1.6...

After installing 2.1.6 with paperclip everything is there but NO GOOGLE PLAYSTORE !
How do i get the Google Playstore ?

BTW, a dirty flash of this new 2.1.6 installed fine over 2.1.4, without having to reinstall apps, settings etc. Just make sure you also flash the patch file afterwards.
