THIS FIRMWARE IS FOR EUROPEAN Q5 4K3D (MANUFACTURED AFTER OCTOBER 2014) ONLY. DO NOT TRY AND FLASH IT TO OTHER REGION Q5 4K3D OR ANY Q10 4K3D.

Q5 4K3D. 17-JAN-2015. FIRMWARE HMD-1.0.7 FINAL FUTEKO-EN.

This firmware is pre-installed on all futeko.com Q5 3D4K after 17-JAN-2015.

Installation Instructions:

1. Copy update.zip to the root of a USB pen drive.
2. Insert the USB pen drive into any USB port of the Q5 3D4K.
3. With the Q5 3D4K turned off, use a paper clip or pen to press and hold the the pinhole restore button on the side of the Q5 3D4K (next to the USB ports).
4. While keeping the restore button pressed, turn on the Q5 3D4K.
5. The Q5 3D4K will show an Android droid logo and proceed to upgrade the firmware.
6. The box will auto-reboot when finished.

Changelog:

1. Fixed Google Browser/spotify music cannot install from Google Play Store (new version uploaded 28-JAN fixing this).
2. Fixed some add ons not work on XBMC/Kodi.
3. User can now install other launcher and set as default.
4. Fixed Youtube output sound, but no image.

even after firmware update still chrome say device not compatible...

Update:
After update XMBC disappeared i need reinstall from KODI web site....

I can confirm that Chrome is still no visible in Play Store and will pass this info onto HiMedia.

pls note in the update procedure as above once downloaded firmware zipped file you have to rename to 'update.zip' otherwise firmware will not succed.

I will post updated zip files for this firmware today, in exactly the same format as previous updates. That will better  clarify the update.zip requirement.

Ok then as follows a streaming tv on demand app:  it.mediaset.infinitytv.apk
Such app doesn't install from google play but i succeeded by apk install. Once run the program and chosen movie to watch a message appear saying "device is rooted or not original". And won't work. thx in advance.

One strange thing, here at Futeko the latest firmware available dated 17. January is named "final". At  German myhdplayer the same (?) firmware is named "beta"...

A new version was uploaded today (28-JAN) which fixes Chrome / Spotify not being available in Play Store.

The download link and thread title have not been changed.

I have big problem, android not starting and on constant boot loop. 
I must do hard-reset or flash last firmware on device,after work perfect.
it's happens every 1-3 day.

Solution for Q5-Quad Core Freeze and Boot Up Issue

Q5-Quad Core not booting up and system freeze.
If you have the same issue, please try the follow.

1. Press down the reset button (Press down once, not to hold). Power off and power on the unit, then you should able to get into the system now.
If this did not work out for you, please upgrade the 1.0.7 firmware under recovery mode (power off unit, hold reset button and power on, will enter the recovery mode)
2. Download the apk from this link, install it.
3. Open System Optimization Tools (new app just intall it on step 2).
4. Reboot the system and done.
