1. How to root and unroot this firmware?
2. Support Status Bar: where can i found it?
3. Is there any other kernel for this player Q5 4K for better?
Thanks

1. Not supported by us, it will invalidate warranty, and we don't recommend it, but.. http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=203.msg1417#msg1417

2. If you move the mouse cursor to the bottom of the screen it automatically pops up.

3. Not that I know of. Why do you want another kernel?

Yes, it's navigation bar not status bar. Himedia have called it status bar in their changelog, probably a translation problem.

I don't know how to customise the kernel, sorry.

Two bugs remains in this firmware:
1. Decoding surround AAC to surround LPCM, still outputs only stereo PCM
2. Himediaplayer doesn't load external subtitles for DLNA/upnp source. Kodi works fine for same source (DVDplayer, not wrapper client).

If you play a movie with subtitles then go menu - subtitle options - subtitle switching - subtitle:close, it should keep that setting.

After upgrading to this version now my tv shows "HDMI mode not supported" on screen
It shows it turning on the box and before android loading screen
I'm able to control the device through the mybox android app, the device still works well with the new firmware
reflashed, factory reset, rebooted several time but still the same message
now I'm downloading the september release to downgrade the firmware and to see what happens
Any other suggestion?
thanks

my tv is:

*update:

1) after downgrading without factory reset still the same error on tv (but reseted firmware before downgrading)
2) done another factory reset and now the box works again as before. now i'm running with rel 3.0.1.1
Someone has a clue?

After installing firmware 3.0.2 press TV MODE button on remote. This should cause the Q5 to auto-detect best mode for your TV.

We've had a few customers report similar problems with new boxes and 3.0.2 firmware. It seems 3.0.2 likes to default to 1080p 60Hz on first boot whereas earlier firmware defaulted to 720p. If your TV doesn't like 1080p 60Hz you'll get a mode not supported or similar message from the TV.

Pressing TV MODE button on remote fixes things.

We have reported this to Himedia so it can be improved in future firmware.

Hello good people,
I seem to be having a problem doing the update via usb. Ive installed the update file onto a usb stick and plugged it into
the Q5 and then with a hairpin ive pushed and held down the restore button. Ive then turned on the player and the message
comes up that its updating and then it says erasing. how long am i supposed to hold the pin in for? because even after ive held it
in for a while then let go the player boots up but when i check the firmware version on the settings screen it still shows 3.0.1
Im sorry if i sound stupid not sure what im doing wrong, any help would be much appreciated because i really like the picture that
this player gives.
Thanks again , sorry if i reply late as well.

Sounds like the box isn't recognising an update file as being present. If it says 'erasing' you're doing a factory reset not an update.

A common mistake is to rename the update package (the file you download from our forum). Nothing should be renamed, the update package on our site is an archive with the update.zip file inside of it. You need to use an unzip app like 7zip or Winzip to extract the update.zip file to the USB stick. We do it like this to prevent any attempt to install corrupted update.zip files.

Other than that, the USB stick needs to be formatted as FAT32 format.
