We've not done this before, but this thread will be a list of feature requests for Himedia H8.

No guarantees that Himedia will act on the list, but it will help better inform them what people want.

The 1.0.7 firmware fixed/added a lot, so this list is only for features after 1.0.7. If you've not installed 1.0.7 please do, it's very good.

Himedia H8 Feature Request
  • 3D-ISO frame packed support in Kodi. Added 1.0.7
  • 23.976 support in Himedia player and Kodi.
  • Auto frame rate switching in Himedia player.
  • Auto frame rate switching in Kodi.
  • 1080p Kodi interface.
  • HDMI CEC with CEC on/off option.
  • PVR add-ons easily available.
  • SAMBA server.
  • Hicontrol Android remote support.
  • Wake up on LAN
  • Wake up HDMI connected device and vice versa.
  • Himediaplayer - fast forward and rewind with picture in increments (2x, 4x 8x etc).
  • Himediaplayer - jump to specified time in file.
  • Himediaplayer - chapter skip forward/back support direct from remote.
  • Himediaplayer - more video info including framerate.
  • Setting to set USB audio input device
  • Support 24/192 audio. Support 24/192 audio in Kodi.
  • Change brightness or turn off front power LED
  • Change default storage (primary data storage SD)
  • Option to go into standby after hard power on. Current behaviour box turns on when power supplied.
  • More SPDIF audio options (e.g bitstream/LPCM)

Good idea...

1, Add-on Support for Kodi
2, PVR Support for Kodi (I have PVR running on a NAS server with TVHeadend as a backend, 1.0.6 supported it although it had a few qwerks it worked)
3, CEC Support
4, Skin Support in Kodi (Not currently availably in 1.0.7)

Add-on support working after reinstalling the Kodi app

Addons work after I reinstalled Kodi... Still no PVR clients in the addons repo though... Can't find the repo on the net to add manually either..

I tried re-installing Kodi because of my lost "addon support"
Couldn't enter any repositories. Weird.

I just redid the firmware update to 1.0.7 and I still have can't add any VIDEO ADDONS.

Trying to re-install Kodi for the 10th time......MAN this SUCKS!

NO SUCCESS - the Himedia Custom Kodi_15.1_151000.apk DOESN'T work for me , I tried MANY , MANY times.

For now I install a NON-Himedia Kodi from the Kodi Downloads and installed ** to watch some of my shows until someone can help me or there is a fix for not being able to add video addons

Is there a way to clear something from the device to enable the entry into a repository for Video-Addons?

HELP Please!

Try uninstalling Kodi then restarting your box, (turn off then turn on) for some reason it reinstalled the 1.0.7 version correctly for me with addons..

That did bring back the VIDEO_ADD ONS but not the current version ?? Maybe different ?? Notice the compiled date. It should read Oct 9 2015 but the Git# is the same.

NO Skin Support.

Open for more suggestion,

This is mine with the working Addons and Skins..

I have TrueHD and DTS-HD working in Kodi (With issues)

Shows GIT:22-09-2015

Looks like you have the same version as me.. Which I think is the correct current one.

I had another play around with mine.. I installed the Kodi version Futeko posted on top of the version that auto installed and got the results below..

Build date:09/10/15

add ons still work but still have the same issues with DTS/Dolby audio.

Still no PVR add ons... :(

I would like a remote "touchpad mouse and keyboard" app for android smartphones. Not only for Kodi but to interact with Lollipop OS. Tried all weekend and found nothing that can work.

Himedia don't usually supply their products rooted. It causes problems with some streaming services.

What would be good is if someone could figure out how to root H8 and provided instructions.
