Hope this will be fixed in 2.0.5

Unfortunately it was not. Still no chance without an AVR. Pretty annoying when I want to watch a movie just with a TV... Are you guys even working on the issue? An update from your side would be fine...

And as info: No, the AC3 core is not available in the MKV. But this was not a problem at all in FW 2.0.1

Not sure what your problem is?
TrueHD 7.1 passes fine via HDMI using latest firmware 2.0.5 (and Kodi 17.4 using wrapper gets same result).  It has done so since the original firmware upgrade last year.

You can't pass HD audio with optical, only HDMI.
If you are trying to send TrueHD to a TV, it won't work without converting the audio to something your TV can handle.
Are you sending audio to an AVR first?

Can you confirm that the device you're sending audio to is capable of decoding True-HD?

Or are you playing True-HD and expecting it to be downmixed to PCM or AC3?

That's exactly what I would expect. Downmixing to PCM or AC3. That's probably what firmware 2.0.1 did.

Back then it was like this:

Device is capable of True-HD -> Passthrough of True-HD stream (unconverted)
Device is not capable of True-HD: Downmix to PCM or AC3 (not sure what it was)

Not sure why this feature was removed. Seemed to make perfect sense to me. I only use HDMI output.

I've also encountered this problem. I use the HDMI output to TV with a soundbar connected to the TV's optical output. I think neither my TV nor the soundbar can decode TrueHD71. Pretty much every other sound codec works ok. However, Kodi 17.1 will. Selecting the Kodi player before starting the movie enables the sound to be heard. I only have a few sources that use this codec but I would guess it'll get used more often in future so I will be converting them to AC3. The free program Ffmpeg with Avanti gui for windows can do it, leaving the video component untouched and taking about 10 minutes for a two hour video.

Have a try, and set HDMI output to PCM.

This is my exact issue right now. UHD iso(s) played just fine, HDR and all, but every movies with TrueHD got stutter badly during playing.  Save for buying a whole new AVR just to decode passed-through TrueHD audio from the player, how can I play 2.0 audio using my Q10Pro?

This problem persists in firmware 2.0.6.
The PCM output of TrueHD tracks is still broken.

Any ideas on when the fix will be done?
