Kodi is fine for almost everything, but sometime i wish there was an option to either zoom or change the aspect ratio and not just "full screen" option. Is there any good media player which has these option.

Also entering text is cumbersome  through  the remote , is there any app which will let me enter the text via android ?

Also if that media player could have feature like play frame - by - frame would be nice.
Thanks.

You mean you want to enter the text with your Android tablet/phone? :???

There's an app called HiControl in the FAQ thread's download section. Haven't tried so far, but I guess it's up to this purpose as well.

Thanks will try.

Can You suggest a better media player which offers me to zoom or change aspect ratio ?

The full screen option in kodi player makes the video skewed .

Why you wan't to change the aspect ratio?! And what you mean that KODI makes it "screwed"? I guess all it does, that it stretches the widescreen movie image vertically to fit your 16:9 screen. It's the best option i guess you will have. Zooming just would cut-off worthy parts of your original video image.

If you want to play the video with it's original aspect ratio, just turn off the "Full Screen" option.

You can also play the videos with the Wrapper, in this case, you need to change the aspect ratio in the Settings->Display menu to either "Full Screen" or "Keep Original".

In some videos the black bar on both top and bottom are little extra , in those condition i would like to zoom the video little bit , thats why.

The full screen option just stretches them vertically as you said but rather if you "fill" the screen i t would have been great.

So you would rather loose some precious details from the picture, than have it stretched to full screen, just to reduce the size of the black bars?!

I didn't use these option, but according this picture: https://cdn2.htpcbeginner.com/images/2016/12/Kodi-43-Video.jpg you should have the Zoom option in KODI. Maybe there's another workaround, as I would suggest you not to zoom, but rather stretch the image vertically a bit, but not as big as with the Full Screen option, maybe there's an option for this in KODI too, look somthing like: Video Calibration in the menu: http://bestforkodi.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/default.jpg

I can understand the wish to be able to zoom in x and y direction idependetnly from each other very well. Because this is something, that has to do with the individual requirements and taste of each user.  A lot older real tec media player featured that function. And Kodi itself features it, too, given by the zoom + pixel ratio function.

If you want to eliminate the black bars on the cinemascope, you have to zoom in vertical direction ~30%. If you zoom at the same time in horizontal direction just 20%, you keep a lot of the content and have almost no visible non-linear stretch effekt. And by that you can transform any movie content to a 16:9 screen.

@Futeko, such a function would make your'e products significantly more attractive, you should definetly think about implementing it.

There are some videos which have way to much height of black bar , in those condition , i would want to slightly zoom. I agree and i too dont like loosing the details , but 110%-120% zoom is very ideal where you can fill the 16:9 tv and also not loose the details.

The image you gave is for 4:3 videos and not for normal movies .

There is mx player but i dont know how well it can handle the movies compared to kodi

MX Player works very well on Q5/Q10 Pro, with hardware video and 7.1 HD-Audio passthrough.

See here for info on how to set it up: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1566.0

I got my Q10 Pro yesterday so I haven't tried this app yet but BSPlayer let's you adjust zoom and aspect ratio on the fly.

I've used it a lot on other Android devices and it works well.

Try the free version first.
