No sound from HD tv streams

My box has been working reasonably well after applying all the various patches etc, including the playercorefactory xml file to allow playback of streaming channels.
Turned my box on today and it had lost all of its addons and they all took several installs (because they kept throwing errors) to get back working again. I have reinstalled the playercore file and streaming works for all movies and tv shows in SD but tv shows in HD have no audio.

Any suggestions as to why my box lost all its addons and why I no longer have audio correctly?

Must be a Kodi settings problem (settings not the same as they were before).

You don't say which version of firmware / Kodi you're running but check audio settings.

If that doesn't work, and you say you got several errors reinstalling addons, a full reinstall (either firmware or completely wipe Kodi and it's data) would almost certainly fix it. The Kodi backup addon can back up you're Kodi config to make restoring setup easier.

Kodi 17 and Android 7 (2.0.1).

Weird thing I have just discovered. If I turn OFF `passthrough` the sound on HD channels works but so does Dolby Atmos etc.
