Internal Hdd by WiFi
« on: January 06, 2017, 12:41:15 PM »
Hello to all of you

i have a problem with my q10pro 2016, i cannot transfer by wifi some files from my hard disk to the internal disk of the q10. My Pc sees the hi media as a disk with 980MB free space available, in real the internal hdd has 137GB and i cannot transfer files more than 980MB.
I hope my explanation is clear enough for you, then i ask some help, what can i do in order to see the real available free space in the internal hdd?
I know that connecting an external hdd to the usb i can transfer the files, but i also would like to make it by wifi.
Waiting for your suggestion, if there is possible what i want.
Thanks
regards

Which file system did you format your Q10 Pro HDD? NTFS?

What firmware are you running? This was a recognised problem that was fixed in (I think 2.0.0) recent firmware.

Before it was fixed a solution was to use a file manager on the PC that allowed you to override the disk full message (ignore it). The problem is that the Q5/Q10 Pro Samba server reports the total size of free internal flash as free space rather than the total of the attached disk. It's caused by Android mounting the attached HDD in the Android file system.

Thanks for the reply,

for your information my Q10 is running with 1.0.9 firmware and Android 5.1 OS. You're talking about 2.0.0, means that i have to upgrade to Android 7? I've heard some problem from the users after the upgrade and most of them have downgraded the device to 5.1 again.

May be the firmware 2.0.0 is ready for Android 5.1 also? Where can i download it if true? Replying also to the other user, asking for the formatting system of the HD, it's NTFS and i can see everything inside, watching movies by Kodi or mediaplayer, i can save into the HD from SD card but i cannot transfer from my apple macbook via WIFI.

If it can be solved i will enjoy the Q10 pro at all, confirming that it's a very good device.

Thanks for your help

regards

It will be fixed for Android 5.1 in next Android 5.1 firmware.

Before that the options are finding a file manager that can ignore the disk full message or upgrading to Android 7. If you want to upgrade to Android 7 then I'd recommend waiting until next week for new Android 7 firmware (after some delays next week looks very likely).

Sound's great, thanks for your advice and support, i think i will wait, the "problem" is not so big and urgent.

There is another small question that i have forgot to say: i have a wifi keyboard with trackpad, but i cannot set the Q10 for italian layout of the keyboard. For better explain, the button on the keyboard show me the double point, i press it and the Q10 write another caracther as per the english layout.
I've already opened the setting menu > external keyboard > italian is settled but nothing change.
I hope it's clear enough and sorry for my poor english.

Best regards
