So... stay with 16.1.

Since i had the time, i did a complete backup of my 16.1 install and tried out 17.0 Beta 7.

  • Passthrough of DTS-HD, TRueHD etc did not work with KODIs internal player, only wrapper worked
  • Streaming of any addon did not work at all - audio plays fine, video stutters  - i tested 10 different video addons

KODI Krypton is unusable on Android.
Without a proper Android maintainer on KODIs staff, these issues will not get fixed for the final release of Krypton.
Things are not looking good for KODIs future.

So... again: stay with 16.1.

Disable media mediacodec  (surface) this will help with video stutter.
It is in video settings - acceleration, it's enabled as default.

I did have this issue with Jarvis too: IPTV steams freezing, stuttering, buffering a lot. Disabling both acceleration fixed it instantly...

Edit: still a very inconvenient way for everyday use, as one should always re-enable the accelerations for, like DVD playback every time...  (As we know the DVD deinterlace issue still hadn't been solved in Hiplayer, so the usage of KODI instead is essential in these cases...)
