After upgrading to Android 7 ive updated kodi to latest version 17 and  it breaks the possibility to play DTS or DD bitstream on movies. Same experience when trying to play movies on Plex app.

Dunno if it is a Himedia issue or an android 7 issue.
This kinda breaks the whole experience of using this player as a htpc thingy...
The built-in "media-center" if you can call it that plays DD and DTS.

You will find that upgrading both the Android operating system and the firmware resets all the defaults.
You need to go through both HiMedia settings (for video and audio) as well as Kodi settings (for video and audio).
The Kodi defaults may need to be changed for passthrough audio (you should not tick DTS-HD MA 7.1 in Kodi).

I can confirm that Q10 Pro still passes 7.1 audio bitstream via HDMI to my Yamaha AVR just fine with Kodi 16.1 so you may be best to wait until the final release of Kodi 17 rather than the beta release?
The "quirk" with playing FLAC 7.1 is still there, however (noted in the upgrade thread).

Ofc the upgrade resets all of the settings. I've gone trough the himedia settings and set it to bitstream.  This wont Change the output. I will try to downgrade the kodi again, but I should be able to play from kodi without using the wrapper to get the standard dts and dd sound.

Hi, I have a similar problem. With that, the sound is OK through the built-in video player.
But over 17 KODI beta sound can not be set to 5.1 or DTS output, it is still only stereo.
The receiver is connected via SPDIF.
