Playing around with settings stumbled into a problem with the "HDCP2.2 Switch" option. When enabled the screen blanks without any possibility to recover. Also a re-boot/power-cycle won't help. Only a new emergency flash will restore the player again to default settings.

Also an almost good news. Samba is working and this time it is also accepted by all Windows programs. Free space and disk size reporting is still not working but now it seems to report a fixed value which works with (most?) applications. Windows Total Commander reports both as -1 so the fields are probably filled by just FFFFFF).

Installed the add-on from pcristi and also Android Total Commander without problems. For the time being will remain using FW 2.0 as my standard media player.  8)

Just installed this firmware and upgraded Kodi to 17.
Must say its disappointing to see audio pass-through with kodi 17 (videoplayer) still not working.
I was really hoping for this but now i have to stick to the wrapper  :'( .
Also i am wondering why this box is sold as 64bit while it is actually running 32bit  (see below)

Forget the marketing hype of 64-bit. The HW can do it there is no doubt about it, but programs to take advantage from it is something completely different.

Did a lot of benchmarking/reading on Windows with 32-bit versus 64-bit OS. The practical experience is that 64-bit uses a lot more memory and on average is not any faster than 64-bit unless the programs used are written specifically for it. These programs must then use specific 64-bit instructions and or memory above 3 Gbyte. Even on Windows these are still exotic. On Android as used by media players going to an 64-bit OS would be very contra productive I can assure you as this box does not have the required large RAM memory for it.

Running W10 on an i7 processor with 32-bit and 4 GByte RAM (single channel DDR4) which is blazing fast (SSD installed obviously). No advantage for me to buy ( a lot) more RAM for 64-bit as my programs won't run any faster with it for sure (=this PC is Dual Boot 32-bit W10 and 64-bit W8.1). Even that i7 is an overkill in practice .
If you have the choice spend money for an SSD instead of spending it for a lot of RAM with 64-bit. Even a small SSD really makes a huge difference. An 8 year old  Dual-Core-Duo with 4G + SSD outperformed by far a new i5 with 16G both running  the same W7 64-bit installation!

For a media player spend money on an as fast as you can get SD-CARD. This specifically if Android 7 allows us to install programs on it?

In fact installed twice (see problem report for the why)  and both times DHCP via Fixed Ethernet came up correctly without the need to change a setup parameter. Did not try Wi-Fi.

@ Futeko: A short feedback on various findings reported would be appreciated: problem confirmed, reported, can't reproduce, known etc.

I would try Step-2 once more, presuming we are talking about Wired Ethernet and DHCP not working. Redoing Step-1 is superfluous I think.
You may first try if manually setting the required network parameters brings it up? Do the lights work at the back?

Yes by default, the Network is ON like others firmware 1.07, 1.08... But no way in Ip address. Yes nothing change about my configuration from the network cables and lights is ok. Just before everything works fine when i donwgrade eo 2.00 to 1.08 frmware, juste for testing, so problem is coming from the beta 2.00 ;)

Yes i agree 64bit is not that important, however in my opinion if one sells it as being 64bit it should be 64bit.
Also the ARMv8 specification allows not only >4GB Memory but has increased register space so the ARMv8 processor will spend less time pulling data from memory = increased performance.
How would you like to buy a Ferrari that after you bought it turns out equipped with a 1300cc engine and when you ask about it you get "well  you are not allowed to drive faster than 80Km per hour anyway"

just doesn't feel right
