I would be more happier if they would solve the current mayor issues (like DVD deinterlace, bad colourspace handling) first, before the newer improovements benefited from the new OS. (Or presenting them so simultaneously would be the most superb. ;D)

From RiCo97:
How does it look?

Google translate:

Again the conclusions on work firmware BETA ANDROID 7 Nougat (part of Video playback)
Just, again, and very meticulously checked playback player all his demos 4 k \????????\??????? in containers mp4\mkv\m2ts\ts\mov
23.976 FPS with/24/25/30/50/29.970/59.940/60 demos from TV LG\Samsung\Philips\Sony and Astra Sattelite Demo. With HDR and without. Serials and movies available in the Internet
Checked the 3D ISO \ BDMV folder \ BD RIPy MKV AVI \ \ VC1 \ TS containers etc.
In conjunction with Vobis\AAC\PCM\MP3\AC3\DTS all options \ Dolby all options
(C) h. 264 video codecs (all profiles, including particularly Hi10P) \ HEVC (8 and 10 Bit) \ VP9 \ VC-1 and MPEG2
With different resolution, from and to.
Smooth playback without the Frisians and dergatni. Without the artifacts. Picture perfect. I did not see any and frame skips microstutters.
After playing TV dropped permission.
All low permissions  upscaiils' to 4 k.
Got 2 of dont work.
The first. When you play the demo movie LG with DOLBY VISION is sound, but no picture.
The second. After playing 3D ISO setting Video color space and HDMI deep color flies to RGB 444 8.
My configuration 4 k TV, resolution 2160 p 60 Hz, audio output to receiver via HDMI
All player settings where possible, stand on the AUTO. 24 p mode in the OFF position. Playing over a network via Gigabit LAN with failservera for SMB

24 p mode in the OFF position.

Well, that two states looks -not just- a bit contradictory. Any thoughts?!  ???

Auto mode on HDMI. :P

Please?! You must turn ON 24p mode to get auto frame rate switching, matching the video source. Settings->HDMI refers to SOUND output, nothing to do with the picture, and Advanced->HDMI adatptation->Auto has to do with adapting picture settings to the target TV, evenly nothing to do with auto framerate switching regarding video sources.

That I understood from the translation from Russian  on auto hdmi it changes the refresh rate automatically in beta FW  android 7.

I planned to test video files playback with 24 p ON mode (with auto frame rate function) soon. Just now I did not have time for that. Sorry for the delay.
Now I can confirm HW decode mode on MX Player and VLC Player with HEVC files. And I can confirm, no any problem with AceStreamMedia.

Nice testing on new firmware.
Has the DRM protection been enabled in the latest FW? I have issues with apps saying that they cannot play on the device cause its rooted ( not DRM protected)
