FPS display was only a feature of the beta himediaplayer app, never official 1.6.
Ultimately, it might have looked like a good feature but all it was doing was reporting what himediaplayer thought fps was. In the case of FW 1.0.6 and earlier this would have correctly reported FPS but still HDMI Hz output was incorrect. The best way to determine what fps is being output is through the info display of your TV / projector.
Agreed, but still it is nice to also indicate the frame rate. When in doubt one may look for the remote of TV/AMP and find again where the info is to be found (not always that easy and not always correct (confusing 24P and 24P/1001 is common there also).
After all what is against including it? In my view absolutely nothing! So I suggest to carry it over from the Chine FW 1.07 with the next update.
I must agree with the part that it would be nice to have it right under one's fingertip on the remote and showing the video fps in Himedia Player Info line. Also along with the video's color format information (if this is even possible somehow, in the case I don't missunderstood something). Just even for the sake of correct comparition with the current state displayed with the TV Info button (to filter possible bugs), but nevertheless also...
More mean topic would be the "Black area ghosting" issue, which I will test today with the new firmware., hope it had been fixed, and will report results... (Maybe we would need some commonly reachable test sample video for this, with attributes (such as lots of dark/black space on screen, with moving lighter areas/objects) relevant to the problem... Any known link suggestions would be welcomed...)
