20-30 minutes is not normal.

After first boot the wait until home screen should not be longer than 5 minutes.

The good news is that if you've got the Himedia screen then the box is unlikely to be bricked.

I advise downloading latest firmware from our forum and installing according to our instructions:

I had similar issue once.  I just rebooted machine.  Went out to shop.  When I came back it had booted in fine.
