Pls Need immediate Help - Unique problem

Hi
I have a Himedia Q5 box. Unfortunately  my remote is not working for the last 3 yrs.
I have been using it through my Hicontrol APP in phone.

Somehow the wifi was turned off in the Q5 settings b mistake, so now Hicontrol is not able to connect with the box. Hence Iam unable to use it.

Iam not getting the remote in my country ( India)

Pls let me know what other universal remote would work for Q5.

Any other suggestions will be appreciated!

PS : My phone does not have a IR blaster, so cant download any remote app.

Solution 1. Try to change the battery if this not solve your problem do a remote control test using your mobile phone.

Solution 2. So, if your remote isn't working right, wake your smartphone and pop open its Camera app. Next, switch to the front-facing camera, point the remote at the camera, and press any button on the remote. If the remote is working properly, you should see a flicker of light come from the IR blaster as viewed through your phone's screen. If your remote control is transmitting signal try to factory reset your box maybe the box itself have problem not the remote control.

Solution 3. Borrow a remote from your friend that has the same unit or ship your remote to a friend that has the same unit to test if your remote control is working fine.

Solution 4. DIY repair your remote control if no one can help you. You can go to your nearest electronics technician to do it for you. If not then proceed with RISK. It might work or it can damage your remote for good.

you can control q5 with:

- pc mouse
- MCE remote
- all remote control  FM ( radio frequency )


only bluetooth NOT work.

Is MCE remote fully supported with all keys on it? Would be nice as I have a few (standard and programmable)  lying around and really liked those.

I would suggest using any USB mouse. That's probably the thing that you're most likely to already have.

only  MCE button ( play ,stop, back ecc.. )   with usb infrared receiver usually included.

Power  on/off  , 3D ecc.. only with official  remote

I do have a have a USB mouse, will try that as the ADMIN suggested

Thanks folks for your help! I was able o use the USB mouse and switch on the WIFI.
Hicontrol works now.  ;D
Iam wondering where and what model of replacement remote I can get that will surely work with my Q5
