Netflix on Himedia H8 1.0.9 firmware

Hi.

I bought the Himedia H8 specifically to view Hulu, Sling TV and Netflix on it (aside from playing my BDMV and BD iso films on my NAS).

If I update Netflix (included pre-installed on 1.0.9) to a newer APK like 3.7.1 (since Netflix 3.7.2 and later versions have Google DNS hardcoded which prevents smart dns from working properly), can I still stream successfully?

I am using a SMART DNS setting.

I really need to make Netflix USA to work for my Himedia H8 unit.

Honest answer, I'm not sure.

Can't you just try it out on your H8? If you want to go back to pre-installed Netflix just reinstall firmware.

I have exactly the same setup: Smartdnsproxy https://www.smartdnsproxy.com/?afid=91fd147c14d0 + Netflix 3.7.1 + Himedia H8 1.0.9 and it works fine.

Hi there..

I have a H8 octacore too and still figuring how to update my firmware to the new firmware that been supply by the official website and so far, i fail to update it yet.. 

Have anyone here know how to do that ?? please teach me, i been follow the instruction on the website but still i fail to update my firmware to current new supply firmware..

The firmware on this forum is the same as the firmware on the HiMedia site but packaged differently.
