Hi. Took delivery of my Dune Real Vision 4K first thing this morning, just after 9 am! Great delivery from Futeko.
This Dune has replaced my Egreat A5 and what a great replacement it is. I'm no expert on these media players, but as a general user I must say the Real Vision has proven to be simple to set up and everything seems to work very nicely from my limited testing so far. The Egreat was okay when it first came out, but it never worked 100% for me and unfortunately firmware development has stopped. I never had all my DVD ISOs working properly, and not all BD ISOs were perfect. In contrast, the Dune is playing everything I throw at it smoothly, no micro stuttering, and all DVD menus working as they should.
I must also say, the poster wall has correctly identified probably something like 95% as a guesstimate of my files, which is something the Egreat never managed for me. For the titles the Dune doesn't match, it has some very nice features for correcting them, from editing the title to entering the IMDB database number, which I think is a great feature. I also like the summary of titles that the poster wall has identified and been confirmed correct (by me), to those that are awaiting confirmation, and there is yet another list of unidentified titles. This feature makes it so much easier for going back later to locate the titles that require manual corrections.
I was surprised to see how compact this unit is, quite a bit smaller than the Egreat A5, although the Dune is missing a SATA port. I thought this would bother me, but in fact using a USB double HDD docking station has proven quite convenient. Of course, the Egreat A5 is quite a few years old now and in that time improvements are made.
It's early days, but so far very pleased with it, especially as out of the box it just worked. Still finding my way around all the options, but everything is logically laid out and not difficult to get used to.
