Reset Q10 Pro to Factory Settings
« on: January 30, 2020, 08:32:37 AM »
Hi! I am wondering if there is a way to reset my Q10 Pro back to when I first got it. I know there is an upgrade button on the back, but do not know if it would do this. My Q10 pro boots to  a blue empty screen and am pretty sure the launchers are corrupted.I also had some network connection issues I could not resolve before this issue. So I have no way of fixing them other than to do a firmware reinstall. The problem is that I do not remember if I was still on Android 5.1 or 7 already and what version of the firmware I was already on.

So,
1. Will pressing the upgrade button at the back return me back to the original Android version and firmware or just reset the firmware to when I first installed it (If so then great)?

2. If #1 does not do that then, is there a firmware I can download that will safely install an updated OS like Android 7 and the latest firmware already? Or Any firmware that does not care about Android version or Firmware version, as long as I can boot back up again with an working launcher so I can do the upgrades manually. Again, I do not know what version of Android I am on and what firmware version. All I know is that I did a firmware upgrade a few years ago.

Thank you.

P.S. Sorry to ask this but is there a place I can check out screen shots of the CFW and know exactly what advantages it has over OFW? I have gone to the CFW forum and did not find any screen shots. Thanks!

1. No. It will do the same as factory reset through the menus, which is wipe user settings / data and restore the box to factory state (kind of..) with the firmware most recently installed. If this does restore the box I would strongly recommend, once you know which firmware was installed, doing a full firmware reinstall as the factory reset does not install some apps added by HiMedia. Only some of the HiMedia firmwares do a reformat of the internal storage. I'd recommend installing one of those once you know which FW was installed.

2. It's much better to know which firmware was installed. If #1 does not work, when did you buy the box? From whom? And did you do any manual firmware updates? As long as you can figure out if it's running Android 5.1 or 7 you'll be safe doing a firmware install with the appropriate firmware.
