Eggreat & New Zidoo 10

I was thinking of buying the new Zidoo Z10 because I am not to sure about the future of Egreat and where they are heading . I must admit as you might Know this media player lark I am not to cleaver with these things. I only use my Egreat A8 for watching films I do not need the menu and I like just like going into watching film do not need the apps as my TV does a better job on that score the only thing that seems to let me down it does not get all my posters for all my films. I do not know if Egreat will fix this or not. And like you did say there is no difference between the Egreat Media player and the new Zidoo Z10 and picture wise and that is the No1 thing with me. What do you think if you do not mind Nice Monkey ( Sorry off Subject again:oops::rolleyes:

As all players also Zidoo have some things that don't work or are flawed otherwise but overall these are good players for watching movies. Simple in setup (frankly I am using auto for almost everything) and still feature rich with good PQ. At the current state Egreat is still better for BD Menu support. Other players may be better at playing at very low bitrates (very highly compressed BD sources).

If one likes to stream movies I would suggest Shield-TV which is probably the best for that. There are cheaper alternatives also when being a pure KODI fan.

Thanks for quick response nice monkey Like I said before I will not be worrying about Menu on the Blu Ray I just want to straight into the film  no adds or what is coming. now. This what I will be doing in the new year Upgrading my projector to 4k and the same with the TV ( But still be happy with Blu ray) as I will be sitting  17 ft from the cinema screen which is only 7ft  So i have been told I will not see much difference between Blu Ray & 4K But it is there if I need it ( I do have USB samples of 4K though and can not see much difference between the two. But the new TV /Projector will show HDR. I would like a exact copy as the quilty of the Blu ray at least in picture ands sound  If you say stay with the Egreat it does it the best  ( even with there problems of late) or do you say  Get the ZIDOO Z10 at least for standby as the OQ is the same as the Egreat . Things  at the moment is Egreat poster problem I have only got 30 films on a 1TB drive & it is only showing 80% saying it can not find anymore  but also Have a 6TB hard drive waiting to have all my blu Rays on and of course i will want the posters  work of  the films i have loaded which will be near enough 200 Do you think Egreat will sort this out or not This is what I do to copy my films Make MKV they seem to be the best because you do not lose on picture  or Sound Q from the blu Ray and I do not want to lose that on the media player especially on a 7Ft screen. So nice monkey where do you think how EGreat is going to end

I am still hopeful to get some Egreat updates, this via internal channels. So for me it is still wait and see for the moment.

Yes me to Nice monkey I do hope for upgrades from Egreat also  esppelly the poster Problem I do hope it fixes that at least. But just in case it does not. Does the Zidoo Z10 suffer from finding the posters for the films ( I know you do not have Z10 but the 9s) but they are basically the same units.As you say they have both have the same picture Q etc Is the Z10 easy to set up? and what faults  if any with the Zidoo players I might find if I go ahead and buy this unit.   Just to add many thanks Nice Monkey for your advice you have given me I am just keeping my fingers crossed that Egreat just might sort out there software Problems. (They  Have got to next year to do it  in before I get my TV and new Projector)

Zidoo media browser is similar in terms of how easy it is to set up. Correct media matching is better than Egreat.

Thank you futeko just had a message fro Rita on the Egreat forum saying new software will be out before the end of the week to solve the poster problem Ermm where have I heard that before oh well wait and see
