OTA Firmware erases all apps/data

Im really tired of finding my box auto updating itself and me losing EVERYTHING i spent so much time working on. every app and its data i have installed and customized, f*cking gone. time & time again!

How do i stop it from over the air updating or force it to keep my data?

Probably it's not updating, it's reseting itself. There are topics discussing the problem

Reset will default to the most recently installed firmware NOT to the original firmware.

It only happens after new firmware comes out. Never before, only once after its been released.
Regardless, what's tthe fix for this reset issue?
