Tiles on home screen
« on: June 15, 2016, 07:20:50 PM »
Because I am a fresh user q10 and android system, yet my devices I used windows and apple system, I peppered forum with many questions which I hope will also help new users.

The next question is related to the location of the tiles on the screen, how can I edit, move,or delete tiles?

Using the remote press menu key when tile is selected, you will be taken to My Apps where you can choose alternative app for that tile.

Tiles can be added by selecting the + tile at far right. Tick all the apps you want to add.

Added tiles can then be removed by selected the + tile and unticking the apps.

Basic tile layout cannot be changed. If you want a more customisable launcher then there are many in Play Store. Search 'launcher'. 'Nova' is good and very customisable.

I know we can add new tiles.
How about removing the preinstalled Skype and Facebook? Is it possible to remove these from the homescreen?

Im also considering to change the home screen estethics and layout. Won't any of those (more popular) third party Launchers mess upp anything on the Box, like stability and compatibilty wise? (I'm Unsure, cause I'm relatively new to Android in general.)

Thank you!

Yes. Press menu button on remote when Skype/Facebook etc tile is selected to be taken to the My Apps screen to select an alternative app for that tile.

Unfortunately I did this by accident with the 'My apps' tile (I changed it to something else   ??? ). How can I get the 'My Apps' back ?    :P
I mean, I can change it to any app in the list of 'my apps', but how to change it so that it will show again all my apps ?

Thanks
Wim

Thanks so much for this fast reply !
The trick was indeed to go to 'all' applications (in my version of Android it's 'show system apps', and there I could clear the settings of the launcher.

Thanks pcristi !!
