Raw audio
« on: December 14, 2016, 10:55:55 AM »
I have a new bug with the box and I dont know if she is the problem ...  That is boring me :(
Yesterday, I updated my hisense xt910 to new g1107 firmware and now hdmi audio raw output with the box is not working, my audio system doesnt detect dolby or dts codec (it is capable to decode)
The box is connected to the tv with hdmi and the tv to the audio system with toslink optical cable (and it is set to raw also)
But I tested another device set on raw output and it is working fine  :-\
Between, I didnt had this problem with the previous tv firmware and what is boring me most is that updates take long time to come ...

If a firmware update to your TV caused the problem I would be looking at your TV as the cause and not HiMedia.

Am I right that you have Q10 Pro -> HDMI -> TV -> TOSLINK -> Receiver?

Does your receiver detect audio streams correctly when connected directly to Q10 Pro?

You are right but it's not a receiver ... my audio system is logitech z906 (I know that some persons may think that this is cheap and not high end home cinema with separated amp and 1000 $ speakers for a tv like that but I read reviews and I can say that this system perform as good as 500 $ home theater in box even if it's "logitech" and that's enough to me for movies and I live in appartment so ...)
I am just saying my opinion sorry  :D and the logitech only decode dts and ac3 (dolby digital) stream, others formats are converted to pcm but with the new firmware, dts and ac3 are detected by the system as stereo pcm with the q10 pro only  :-\

Can't you connect the Q10 Pro directly to the logitech z906 via TOSLINK?

I don't understand why the TV is involved if you want to feed TOSLINK audio to the logitech.

Apart from that, make sure the setting on Q10 Pro are correct for 5.1 via TOSLINK. Settings - Playback: SPDIF Output: RAW.

That's because I have 2 devices (3 with the tv) and I want them to output the sound on the logitech on one input because I dont want to switch every time inputs on the system
But for now, I think I dont have other solutions ... I will do this and wait for next tv firmware

I don't know how but today it worked again while only connected to the Tv
maybe because I unplugged the cable power from the box and replug
Anyway that's good
