This is the official HiMedia European/International 1.0.8 firmware repackaged by us to include installation instructions and changelog.

Internal build number: HMD-1.0.8 2016-10-17.104357

IMPORTANT! THIS FIRMWARE IS FOR INTERNATIONAL/EUROPEAN Q5 PRO ONLY.

DO NOT TRY AND FLASH IT TO CHINESE HARDWARE Q5 PRO OR OR PREVIOUS GENERATION Q5 4K3D.

Installation Instructions:

1. Extract update.zip from the download archive to the root of a USB pen drive. (the USB pen drive should contain a single file called 'update.zip').
2. Insert the USB pen drive into any USB port of Q5 Pro.
3. With Q5 Pro turned off, use a paper clip or pen to press and hold the the pinhole RESTORE button on the back of Q5 Pro (next to the power port).
4. While keeping the RESTORE button pressed, turn on the Q5 Pro.
5. Q5 Pro will show an Android droid logo and proceed to upgrade the firmware.
6. When you see the Android droid logo, you can release the restore button.
7. The box will auto-reboot when finished.
8. First boot will take 3-5 minutes. Wait for the Android home screen to be displayed.

I quickly tested the new firmware 1.08 but can not find anything positive.
-50/60hz 720/1080 still NOT working, no Auto framerate Switch  ! Cant be true!

- 3D Bluray MVC ISO is NOT fixed.
- DVD and dvd-iso not working in kodi

He was quick to crash in the search for kodi library films.
also the big problem of reading DVDs has not been resolved. indeed worsened, not only it kodi not read them yet but also the internal reader does not read them more '.
I then tried to change wrappler primary reader in kodi and the DVD starts, but you do not hear the audio.

You can get 50>60 / 60>50 Hz auto switch by installing this patch: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1043.0

To clarify your point, 3D MVC ISOs play, but 23.976Hz is output at 24Hz. Not all 3D MVC ISOs are 23.976Hz.

Most DVD folder / DVD ISOs play in both Himediaplayer and Kodi internal player. Some do not though in Himediaplayer and this is being worked on.

If you disable wrapper in Kodi all DVD ISOs should play using Kodi's internal player. The lack of audio you're experiencing is almost certainly a setup problem. Look in Kodi settings. SYSTEM - Settings - System - Audio output and make sure settings match your setup.

You shouldn't experience crashing with 1.0.8 (certainly not any more than 1.0.7). If you didn't install using the restore button method (on back on box) please reinstall using this method for maximum stability.

We (futeko) are not HiMedia. We repeatedly inform them of bug/feature requests and they act on them or not.

Auto switching between 50 and 60Hz is a feature that not everybody wants or would use. The patch optionally provides this functionality for those who want it and is not very difficult to install.

What we've been asking HiMedia for is better control via menu of auto switching (and resolution / HDR / colorspace). The next firmware will be based on a new SDK and will be Android 7. We hope it will be better in this regard.
