Has anyone tested thus custom firmware as well to see which problems really have disappeared?

The bugs will not go away with the modded firmware.  It is noting more than 1.0.9.1  with some updates to apps and some new apps added to it.  There are no differences in the actual android OS

...or the SDK, which is apparently where the audio dropouts issue is. The 3D ghosting issues got introduced at some point, so something else is probably causing it.
