Q10 4k3d Question before buying

Dear all

I have 3 questions before buying the Q10 4k3d

1 are there plans for android 5 and if yes, when will it approx be released (I don't wish to buy a player and that a couple of months after a new player arrives with android 5 while mine never gets the update)
2 I noticed in the blog there were issues with the 7.1 True HD passthrough and this was fixable through a zip (posted on Febr2). Is this the same zip as to fix this and the 3d blu ray issue for XBMC Kodi? And will these fixes also be included by default in the next firmware? If yes, when does it release?
3 Is hi10p (10bit) video fully supported without stutters and hick ups? Till now every player I used had either no support or a lot of difficulties to play hi10p (10bit) 1080p mkv files. If the Q10 4k3d fully supports this, is this fully smooth?

1. I think it is unlikely. It's more usual for products to stay with the base Android version. When HiMedia are back at work after CNY I will get an official reply from them and post it here.

2. 7.1 passthrough works prefectly from the HiMedia Android app.

The Kodi/XBMC patch (i.e. http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=60.0) replaces Kodi/XBMCs internal video player with the HiMedia player. In this way it allows 7.1 passthrough and 3D ISO in Kodi/XBMC. This can't be included with the firmware because it is a patch for Kodi/XBMC. The advantage of this patch approach is that it can be installed on any version of XBMC/Kodi (13.0 and later).

The TrueHD ATMOS patch (i.e. http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=63.0) is for the box in general and adds TrueHD ATMOS support. It will be included in future firmware. No date yet, but probably soon after HiMedia return from CNY.

3. There's a thread about this here: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=69.0. In my testing hi10p files play well. If you point me to a sample file I'm happy to test it.

Many thanks for your quick reply and looking forward to receiving your other answers after Chinese ny. Regarding the files. They are 2.4GB-4GB 1080p hi10p files from eg. games of thrones. Since they are coming from torrent sites, I don't know if I'm allowed to place the link up here but typing in the above in Google will list them.
